- I only use paints which comply with EC and US standards for cosmetics. I mostly use Snazaroo, Grimas, Fardel and Fantasy Worldwide paints. These paints contain anti-bacterial agents and are hypo-allergenic.

- I will not paint a child who seems ill or who has chicken pox, measles, mumps, conjunctivitis, any infectious skin condition or eczema. If a child has cuts or bruises I will paint around the area.

- All my brushes are thoroughly cleaned in anti-bacterial hand wash and surgical spirit between jobs. If any of y brushes or paints come into contact with blood they will be discarded. My paints are cleaned with anti-bacterial wipes.

- I clean brushes and change the water after each face and I use a clean sponge for each face.

- If necessary I will clean the child’s face with baby wipes before painting their face.

- If a child has sensitive skin or is prone to allergies, I would prefer not to paint their face. But, if they want their face painting I can do a patch test on the inside of their arm and leave for one hour. If there is no reaction I will paint but if the skin does react I will not paint. Alternatively, I can paint the child’s hand, arm or even their foot.
